Ngamba Island provides the perfect destination at the end of a safari trail in Uganda. This tropical island is located on Lake Victoria, the world's second largest fresh water lake, only 23 km from Entebbe. It is home to 38 orphaned chimpanzees that have been rescued from the bush meat trade.

The trip to the island takes you right across the equator. Several water bird species such as pelicans, terns, cormorants, and the fish eagle can be seen along the way providing spectacular photographic opportunity. There are lots of other fish available in this fresh water lake such as the tilapia.
