The main attractions
to Kibale Forest National park
are the chimpanzees. Kibale forest NP is 760 square kilometer in size and is
home to thirteen different primate species, and has the largest density of
primates in the world!
Twelve other
primates can also be seen along the forest walk; however, visitors have to
spend the night to see the nocturnal primates such as the galago and potto. The
three hour primate walk takes you along a 3-5 km trail. The group size is
limited to six people; however, any number of groups can head out but in
different directions.
While on the forest
walk, encounters large mammals such as the forest elephant, buffalo, and
antelopes is not uncommon. Other attractions include an incredible number of
birds and butterflies, and the magnificently stunning view around the crater
lakes that dot the landscape around Kibale
National Park.
