This fifteen day trip covers all that Uganda
has to offer in terms of culture, history, traditions interjected with wildlife
and adventure.
We start in the East
of the country where the highlights are the Sipi water falls, Nyero cave
paintings, and the source of the Nile where you can also white water raft,
bunji jump or visit the awe inspiring Bujagli falls and listen to traditional
legends. We then move to central Uganda
where we focus on the Buganda
kingdom highlighting the tombs of the Buganda
kings, the Uganda
museum and then get some hands on experience training on Ugandan traditions
such as courtship, cooking and dressing at the Ndere cultural centre. After
this we head westwards where we visit the historical sites of the Bachwezi
demi-gods, visit a traditional witch doctor, and participate in traditional
salt mining. We also visit the palace of the king of Toro before heading out to
sail on LakeBunyonyi where we experience and listen
to folklore and visit the forest dwelling pygmies and ironsmiths.Our return journey takes us through Masaka
where we will visit traditional farms and also partake in some ostrich riding!
Finally we head back to Kampala
via the equator for some souvenirs in the crafts market.
